Job Position: Practising Hand Therapists – OT or PT

FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE TO THE RIGHT APPLICANTS

• Interesting and varied clinical work ranging from acute to chronic musculo- skeletal hand conditions to post-operative rehabilitation.
• Opportunity to develop clinical skills in rehabilitation of the hand and upper limb
• Clinical supervision will be provided

What does the day to day look like?

• Clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patient finger, thumb, wrist, forearm or elbow conditions
• Wound dressings / removal of stitches
• Oedema management 
• Massage and mysofascial release
• Scar management
• Splinting and casting 
• Customized exercise programs
• Pain management
• Goal setting
• Patient education 
• Report and letter writing 

Applicant Preference

• NZ Registered Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with a current APC
• Holds full registration or is an associate member working towards their registration through NZ Hand Therapy Association
• Completion of Hand and Upper Limb post graduate study through AUT 
• Completed Basic and Advanced Splint Training
• Great time management skills
• Enthusiastic and willingness to keep learning and developing their skills
